Children have opportunities to take part in a wide range of activities during lunchtimes and after school. Recent activities include Chess, Spanish, French, netball, football, running, Construction Club, Arts and Craft Club, Choir and Beach school activities. In addition to this, occasional special activities are organised for example, Woodroffe recently ran a coaching session in Playleader skills for the children in year six.
We encourage children to develop interests through clubs arranged by school and other organisations. We recognise the importance of supporting pupils in their out-of-school activities and celebrating their successes. Some children have instrumental music tuition, for which there is a charge. Swimming lessons are provided for children in Years 2, 4 and 6 as part of the PE curriculum.
Primary schools in the local community along with Woodroffe Secondary School organise competitions in many sports including cricket, football, tag rugby, athletics and netball.
