Uniform and Personal Belongings at Charmouth

Our uniform expectations have been considered to ensure that our uniform is affordable and inclusive. Items with logos are available through the supplier below, however, other brands with no logo are acceptable. We also have second hand uniform available in the school foyer for donations; this can be accessed whenever the school building is open. Uniform that is no longer required can also be donated here.

School uniform

Our school uniform is:

  • plain black closed shoes
  • white polo shirt (navy blue for mini Explorers)
  • royal blue jumper or cardigan
  • grey or black trousers/shorts/skirt/dress
  • blue and white checked summer dresses may also be worn
  • plain grey, black or white socks or tights

On PE days, children may come into school in their PE kit. This should be:

  • a white t-shirt or polo shirt
  • navy/grey or black shorts, track suit trousers or leggings
  • royal blue school jumper or cardigan
  • trainers
  • hair tied back
  • earrings removed

School uniform can be ordered from https://myclothing.com/

We also have second hand uniform available in the foyer area of the school where parents can help themselves to donated uniform. There is a donation pot for any contributions.

Jewellery

Jewellery should not usually be worn in school. The only jewellery that may be worn is a watch and a pair of stud earrings. Watches should be standard analogue or digital watches; watches with additional features are not permitted. Children should not wear any jewellery for PE.

Hair and Make Up

We encourage children to wear long hair tied back to keep it out of their face when learning. On PE days, children should always have long hair tied back. No make up, including nail varnish and fake nails should be worn in school.

Other Personal Belongings

Children need very few personal belongings in school on a day to day basis and we encourage only essential personal belongings to be in school to avoid upset if they get lost or damaged as well as to ensure that they are not a distraction.

Children should have the following personal items in school;

  • named water bottle
  • coat
  • sun hat

Should a child need to have special adjustments made to uniform and personal belongings in school, this should be discussed and agreed with the headteacher.
